Privilege works in different forms in the world around us. But when it comes to the categories of identity, privilege becomes more prominent in our society. The binary terms ‘Men rule women’ or ‘Whites rules Blacks’ say the truth of privilege through oppression. When a society specifies a woman as ‘black’ instead of just addressing her as a woman, it automatically reflects privilege. Privilege works on a White woman as having gendered. For a Black woman, it’s both race and gender. But for a White man, neither of the intersectional elements works.
